Prime question at the Wartime Regimental Allocation interview process - asked of the British Military Academy graduates prior to them being commissioned.

"Rearrange the letters P N E S I to spell out an important part of the male human body that is more useful when erect."

Those who answered SPINE went to Army Air or Intelligence Corps.

The rest went to Infantry!

It is also kind of a trick, look at the way they place the letters:
P N E S I ........and what does it say, "pee-ness", it gives you the answer they want you to see.
If they had put I S N P E, most people wouldn't get the joke as quickly.

Even though it is only a joke, it is also a subliminal suggestion that makes it funny.

Nothing like "overthinking" a joke, is there.
