Well done for finding this one. The oil bottle is a MkIV from J & J Bent made in 1913.

Thanks for the info on the oiler. I found a SSA marked triggerguard for it too. A fellow from Australia had it and we are trading triggerguards.....I am also throwing in a very nice Savage magazine and still think I'm getting a great SSA marked part. One of the best features of our hobby are the generous fellow collectors who help out others without a second thought. Regards, Rick.

Nice find, the old girl is in good nick.
By the way, 3rd Military District is Victoria. Queensland was the 1st Military District.

New South Wales whilst being the 2nd Military District considered itself the First.

nice find , and a beautiful rifle , i agree on 3MD use , markings on receiver is same as my mkIII that was 3rd MD Victioria

I got lucky and found a SSA triggerguard. The fellow from Aus (NSW) and I swapped some parts. Now she has another SSA part which are hard to come by. Regards, Rick.
