Thanks for the replies

Gents, I appreciate the information and direction you provided, it's a big help! The rifle I'm looking into is a No5 that was converted to .308win at some point in it's life. The 20ton proof marking on the barrel has mad me a bit suspicous that it is a civilian conversion of some type. The curious t...

Aussie butt question

Greetings all, I've had this old girl around for awhile and was wondering if anyone could help me decipher the buttstock markings. In particular I'd like to find out what "ARR" represents. The rifle is a 1908 BSA and appears to have spent some time in New South Wales. [pic]http://img.photo...

if it's the No4T style your after there have been several folks on the auction sites who offer repros. They usually require a bit of fitting but it's easy to do. If that fails you might send Brian Dick and e-mail( www.bdlltd.com)

US Marines train ride

Question about Proof Houses

Greetings all,

Does anyone know the year that the English proof houses switched from a 19ton proof to a 20ton proof on the 7.62x51 (308 win) cartridge?

Thank You!

Adam,

good luck on the Ross barrels! I wish we were a bit closer as I may be able to help you with a Ross tube, is the rifle in need a MkII or a MkIII?
