We only have a stove with one oven. If you cook a turkey in an oven it takes a while and throws everything else that needs baking out of timing for the meal. But if you cook it outside on the patio the oven is free for stuff like dressing and pecan pie and baking the dinner rolls. Actually the pies ...

I did a little googling and looks like the process from husk to walnut is a pain in the butt unless you are a serious walnut lover.

Something that doesn't grow on the Gulf Coast

I was offered some of these in Kentucky. I declined with thanks anyway. I was thinking it was too much work involved and I don't particularly like them anyway. Anybody know what this is? Besides me taking the word of the guy who was offering them.
