Shipping pistols Fedex

Post by Niner » Fri Jul 14, 2006 5:19 pm

I went by Fedex to ship one of the pistols I got from Lipsey's back. The girl behind the counter asked me if it were "broken down into pieces". I said no... it was all together, more or less, as when I received it. ......Wrong answer. Turns out pistols have to be broken down into more than one piece in order to ship. Of course, none of the few pistols I have received from various sources that have come through Fedex, including this one I was trying to send back, were ever broken down when received.

I've shipped pistols before through UPS and they didn't seem to care what condtion they were in....as long as they weren't loaded. Guess I'll take it apart a little and try again Monday.

Ups requires that you remove bolts from rifles. I guess it is a precaution to make sure it isn't loaded.
