Jim Sunter

It is with profound sadness that I write this post to inform you that Jim Sunter passed away this morning.

Jim was sometimes known as Jumper Man on these boards and although he never posted here he appeared in many photos of our shoots.

Jim is also well known to many of our British members and helped host our international members when they visited our part of the world.

I am proud to have had Jim as friend, my life has been the better for knowing Jim and I shall miss him keenly.

My thoughts are now with his wife and family.

My sincere condoleancres to his family - I only met him once, but still... Life can be cruel. He was a nice guy.

I only met Jim once when he, Adam and enjoyed a pint together in The Artists' Rifles club house at Bisley a couple of years ago.

Jim immediately impressed me with his friendly personality and dry, Geordie wit. He had me in stitches and I shall treasure the memory of that happy lunchtime spent in such convivial company. I only wish that I could have known him better.

I can't believe he has gone. He seemed so young and healthy when I met him.

My sincere condolences to Jim's family and close friends.

Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew him, I was shattered by the awful news today.

Goodbye to a true English Gentleman, my condolences go to Jims wife, Judy and family.

Like Belgmart I only met Jim the once. I also found him a very open, friendly person. I was impressed by his willingness to host some unknown colonial blow-in for a day, but true gentleman are like that. My condolences to his wife and family. And also to his friends.

I was stunned when I got the news today.

I will miss Jim he was a Gentleman.

I only met Jim a couple of times at Bisley but found him to be a perfect gentleman; which as we read all of these posts about him the word "gentlemen" does seem to be a recurring theme, which I am sure tells us a lot about the man.

I recall the Bisley meeting that I first met Jim and Adam in the Artists (as ever!) we had a splendid evening, the next day when Adam was shooting and Jim had I think shot his match earlier I bumped into him as he was wondering around Bisley quite slowly taking in all of the sites and club houses, I can not recall the trivia that we spoke of but talking to Jim was a comfortable experiance.

Having only met him twice he has left an immpression on me of a quiet and studious man.

My sincere condolences to Jims family and all of his friends.

I met Jim last year when I had a few pints at the Artist Rifles with him and Adam. A very nice bloke and good company. My condolances to his family.
