I wrote this article before the current rash of contagious shootings. It seems to be borne out.

Time someone took the phrase 'In The Public Interest' and shoved it hard up the 'you know where' of Editors and Journalists alike. We should also stop worrying about Journalists who get themselves killed in war zones. No one FORCES them to go, they are just trying to make a name for themselves - and sometimes at the expense of our own forces. They should all wear helmets with 'Fair Game' and a target on them!

Yes, except... all the hardworking professionals that do a good job and get screwed by space, prejudice, subeditors and canned angles.

Michael Yon for instance is excellent. I believe even in Al-Reuters and Agence-France-Presse there must be decent people who don't deserve a hasty execution.

Its the system and the ones that don't do their best that I object to; I think the ones in my article should have people stand silently outside their homes in black, and point their fingers.
