What looked a M28/30 like, when new from factory? Look here!

That looks new and unissued for sure. What can you tell us about it?

It reminds me of the several visits I made to the basement of the Finnish War Museum.
The rifle is in as issued(or to be more correct nearly unissued) condition.
Seems like, it never saw much service, blueing not worn, not even on the edges. barrel like it left the factory in 1938, shoots like a dream.
Also the Chamber was never updated to D-condition, a finn D-Cartridge just kisses the lands when chambered.
That's why it will only get Lapua Match ammo or equal hand loads(D46 and 44grn N140).
The trigger is the best one I ever fond on a Finn, light and crisp.
I got the RIfle from an older gentleman, who could not use the sights anymore. He told me about this rifle some years back, as it belonged to a friend of him, who never shot it.
Some moth back he got it from his friend, did not like the sights and now sold it to me. I like the sights!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have not taken it apart, because I have problem s with my elbow, and I fear to scratch the screws, when turning them mit my left paw.

It would be interesting to know the history of this particular rifle. How did it get to Germany, do you think...... guessing that is where your friend is from as well as the man he got it from?
If it were imported into Germany, or Europe, through "normal" sources would it have import marks like the ones on weapons imported into the US?

The rifle has import marks, they are below/left of the SA Stamp.
I did not take a pic of them, because they are not that interesting.
The importer is Waffen Frankonia Würzburg, like on most of the Finn Mosin here.
The date of proofe firing is May 1992.

Have you shot this gun yet? Have you ever tried the Lapua D-166 bullet in these rifles?
I have used the D-166 and found great results from my Finnish rifles.
