Section 1 Arms Fair

Post by joseyclosey » Thu Feb 15, 2007 1:49 pm

Bit short notice i know, but there is a Section 1 Arms Fair on at The Scotch Corner Hotel, North Yorkshire (just off the A1 junction A66 west) this Sunday 18th February from 10am to 4pm.

This is a unique event for Section 1 shooters and collectors of classic military rifles and accessories.

I`ll be there with my cheque book :D

Desirable and cheap?

You can't be talking about "the great British gun trade" there Peter.

If you were it would be an oxymoron.

Plenty of desirables Peter i am sure there would have been something to tempt you..... .22 trainers, Smellies, No.5`s, No.4`s, Martini`s, Snider`s, a L42 in its chest complete with all the accessories, G98`s, K98`s Swede Mausers, 03A3, stacks of obsoletes and some more modern stuff which i did`nt take too much notice of.

A small fair without the usual plethora of badges and buttons, Just quality firearms and related accessories / books.

Did you buy anything?

Post by PeterN2 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 4:58 pm

Did you bring anything home with you Joe? It sounds like I missed a good show. Are they having another one sometime?

Peter i am still waiting for my FAC coming back from renewal but i do have my name on a Lee Speed (one of Jims old collection) and a 98AZ, which used to be mine, but which i traded for a Long Lee Volunteer on the understanding that i got first dibs if the guy wanted to sell it on. I didnt want to part with it in the first place but i was f***ing desperate to get my hands on the Long Lee and the guy with the LL wouldnt do a deal unless he could have the AZ. (Does that make sense?)

Anyway, it is coming home to Daddy now :D

I believe the Arms Fair will be held again just not sure when, unfortunately it coincided with the big Birmingham Fair this time.

heres a small selection of the kit there...

Very tasty stuff Joe. I think I'll go and weep quietly in the corner.
