Sniper scope mounts

Post by Niner » Thu Mar 08, 2007 12:09 am

Posted this over at the Rangers site as a question and got no response after seeing a series of "real " snipers in a string without the strap through the round hole in the scope mount.

So...was this how the real ones were or not?

This is one of those cheap who the hell knows where they came from put together things. No pretense intended. Just wondered if this was what the round hole was for or not on the real ones.

Notice how the caps are larger than the mount hole. The strap had to have been run through the hole and then sewn to the caps.

STUMPED

Sorry Niner but that one stumped me. If I was to guess I would say that mount looks to be a recent one just made up for the fake ones coming out of Russia

Don't know how true to form this cap attachment is, but the way it's put on looks lke a good way to keep from losing the caps anyway.

Mine's like that too.

Don't know if it's the "original style", but it is handy this way....
