Here're a couple shots of the No5 I stumbled into today...my second.


I went to a tiny local gun show to see what could be seen and there was this No5 with a ridiculous $75 asking price <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">;


I couldn't leave it behind now, could I?

Both Faz, the new one is a 9/45, the type without the nosecap. Walnut furniture, bright bore, matching numbers---all that stuff.


The previous owner said he "...just want(ed) to get rid of it." He was a slight man of advanced years---I think he fired it and was deeply bruised.


I may have been doing him a favor by removing it from his sight, but I still feel like I ought to go to Confession, or take a long hot bath---something.

Seeing as we're showing our JC's, I thought I'd add my two. Picked this one up last week at my local pawn shop. 1946 Fazarkely. This one has the tropical varnish and is marked FMP (malayan police)

We don't get many of those Malaysian jobs over here, not a varnish fan myself but thats what the Mayaysians did.





I like the Australian a aproach to treating the wood for jungle conditions, mix creosote in with the linseed oil.

This is a 25 yard target, shot according to some match rules over at some other Forum. Two shots in four seconds, standing, from the Ready position.


This was fired from the 1947 No5, which allowed a dead-on hold with the battle sight. Ammunition was PMP MkVII surplus. My thanks to the guy who wrote "Instinct Shooting" back in the early '60s---it came into play here.
