Super Magnum

Post by Pilgrim » Tue Jun 19, 2007 10:01 am

I messed up when I made mention of this in the Mauser section above.

I bought a Dan Wesson SuperMagnum revolver in .357max. It came with a second barrel liner, addition sight inserts, tools, guages and a second set of rubber grips.

It's an Xframe. I compared it with a SW .460vxr and it's the exact same size. The right hand cartridge is the .357max shown with a .38spl and a .357mag.

shown here with a SW629 .44 mag for comparison:

and here with a Model 66 SW:

Shooting the .38 and .357mag in it is like shooting a .22 !

Load it up with what it's made for and it ROARS !

I understand it was available in a .41MAX and .44 MAX round as well.

Anyone else got one?

Ammo is tough to get. None of the major mfgrs carry it. I found a place in RI that has it and got 100 rounds from them.

Now that I have rounds (and eventually once fired brass) , I'm going to have to reload it.

Just keep shooting we'll worry about it when the smoke clears.
