The Winter War Movie
I know this is old news that this is a pretty good war move. Really good for all the Nagants in action and just action in general. But I just got a copy for father's day so it's the first time I had anything to remark about it..
One thing I noticed in Scene 10, "First Major Attack" was this soldier, one of the main characters, firing his M39 at the Russian troops charging toward his lines. This guy closes both eyes each time just as he pulls the trigger, then opens them just after the round is fired. I know this is just a movie...... but anybody else notice and remember this and find it.... odd?

Seems like, if being nearly being over run by the enemy, the soldier would have kept the buttstock against his shoulder as he cycled the bolt as well..... but this is a movie and who knows what they actually did anyway.
Managed to take a photo of the eyes closed on shooting.

Never heard of it - the movie that is.
Will see if I can 'acquire' a copy and have a gander. I have got 'Enemy at the gate' and Cross of Iron but I never looked at them from a firearms point of view before.

The Winter War or Talvisota
The copy I got came from Belle & Blade although by permission of Nordisk Film. You can find a copy on Amazon.
I like Talvisota, real good movie, only minor errors.
And good special effects too!!!!!!!!
The planes were models(2..3m long), but you could never tell that from the movie.
m/28-30 is my favorite Rifle, fits me perfect
One day my son Simo will get all of my finn rifles, maybe he will like them as much as I doo.

Not going anywhere are you Chris?
I can't find this film on Amazon in the UK or France and it didn't come up on Amazon.com either.
