Krag glass bedding
The P.O. delivered a wonderful 92/96 Krag to me in two pieces recently.
I'm trying to get properly reimbursed for a 92 stock that had the cleaning rod slot filled in. Estimates of value I've received from various collectors range from $350 -$700, so I've billed the P.O. for the full insured amount of $500!
In the meantime, I've ordered a repro stock and I'm looking for any information on glass bedding it. I've seen enough split Krag stocks to realize, it's probably pretty easy to do wrong! With all the Krag gunsmithing that was going on in the past there should be some articles someone can point me to, or some firsthand advice that can be offered. Anyone out there ever performed this operation?

Thank you
Thanks for the reply, wish I was back in college, I think I spent more time with the vast collection of American Rifleman that they had then I did my textbooks. But I don't recall anything about glass bedding a Krag in there. I'll see what I can do about following your suggestion. Thanks again.
