SMLE .22 Trainer

Post by PeterN2 » Fri Oct 26, 2007 10:01 am

A local gunshop has a SMLE .22 trainer for sale. The advert says it is converted from a SMLE Mk III complete with volley sights and cut off. I thought it sounded like a pattern 1914 trainer so I phoned up to get more details. It seems it is a commercial conversion as it has the retailer/gunmakers name on it, but I have forgotten who it is. I have not seen a commercial .22 SMLE trainer before, only the military ones and wondered if anyone else has one.

Regards

Peter..

Many of the military .22 trainers were converted by the trade.

A.G.Parker of Birmingham did many of the early conversions and during WW2 there were other commercial conversions.

Grab it :!: :!: :!:
