Cleaning up..............

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

Cleaning up..............

Post by Dutch Mosin » Sun Nov 25, 2007 4:09 pm

....the attic I came across some of these.

I had forgotten all about them.

From left to right:

1) Dutch police holster for a FN 125(that's the police issued FN 10/22)

2) Dutch military holster for the Glock 17

3) ???????

4) ???????

If there's anybody who recognizes the number 3 and 4 holsters let me know.

I've been having these for years and still don't know what type of pistols belong in them.

Martin, Your number 3 holster looks much like a Canadian piece for the Browning High Power pistol that is used by the a wide range of those in the Canadian Forces. Number 4 may be for the Colt 1911 series of pistols. It too may have been Canadian or British. The colour on both are wrong but the styles look right.

Thanks tonsper.

I received an answer from someone on another site who came up with the same answer on holster No 3.

I think you are also right about holster No 4.

It is somewhat bigger then holster No 3.

The colours aren’t wrong though.

These were the colours of the Dutch “webbing” (that includes the holsters) from the early 50’s until the early 90’s.

We called that “green stuff” blanco.

A bit like shoe shine, but then…..green.

Around that time we also received new(camo) uniforms and new weapons.

The FAL, UZI and the Browning HP were replaced by the Diemaco and the Glock 17.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

Martin having never heard of Diemaco, i googled it to find it has also been used on a small scale by the Brits. i.e. The Pathfinder Platoon and the Brigade Reconnaissance Force.

Interesting!

Diemaco has been active in Canada for almost 20 years. They manufacture upgraded copies of the M16 and M4 poodleshooters for the Canadian military and others. They have also manufactured other arms such as the one formerly known as the Ruger MR9 9mm Para sub-gun. They don't advertise much so many people don't know they exist.

Thanks for adding the info tonsper.

I appreciate it.

Joe,

The Diemaco is a copy of the M16 as you might have noticed yourself.

On the left side of my Diemaco it says "licensed by Colt". :D

We have several versions.

The rifles with and without elcan scope which are designated Diemaco C7 and C7A1 and the carbines with and without elcan scope which are designated Diemaco C8 and C8A1.

Here's a picture of MINE

Here's one of my favorits.
The Diemaco C7A1 with H&K 40mm grenade launcher.

...and finally the carbine version C8A1 with H&K 40mm grenade launcher.

Yes, the camo is very similar.

About our MG's...well, we have a few (not all of them in 7.62 though).

Here they are.

Of course there is the good old MAG.

Very reliable.

I like this one very much.

Pictures of MAG's on a shooting range.

Then we have the FN Minimi.

I have no experience with this squad weapon., but what I hear of my colleagues is that they would trade it for the MAG within a second.

Finally the squad weapon of our marines.

They are issued with the Diemaco LSW (Light Support Weapon)

Found this picture on the site of Diemaco.

Thanks Martin, i love the shot of the 4 Mags, if you don`t mind i will use that as my desktop?

It is 20 years since i last used the GPMG but i had the opportunity of putting a 100rounds through a Minimi when we shared adjacent ranges with a military unit last year, i found it a very handy MG.

Excuse me for taking your thread off topic BTW.
