I hadn't shot my new Remington 870 until today. I wanted to see what the difference would be between the "modified" choke that came with it and the Skeet choke I bought extra.
I had to get a target stand set up for me special at the range....different union than the pistol range I guess. Whatever, it worked. I'm not sure exactly what distance I was from the target but suspect somewhere around 60 feet, give or take a yard. It was only important to stand the same distance away for my purposes.
If I remember right the skeet should put 60% of the pellets in a 30 inch circle at 25 yards and the modified should do the same at 30 yards....actually, just looked it up, the modified is 60% at 40 yards.
I was using Winchester Sporting Clay shells and found the suggested pattern tightness is probably right.

I think seeing adds much to understanding
At least for me it does. I was somewhat surprised at how tight the group was with the modified considering how small the shot.
