These were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir) or were coated with gray zinc (zingué gris)

These were developed by Sous-Lieutenant Vibert in March 1916 and were originally made by Établissement Bliss et Cie from March 1916 to March 1925. These were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir) only

These were made from March 1925 up to 1949 or 1950 and were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir), black phosphate (phosphaté noir) or were coated with gray zinc (zingué gris)

X ... A 8mm wide "X" in the middle of the top portion of the charger denotes this as a drill/exercise/training charger

Chargeur à Réfectionné

+ ... A 8mm wide "+" on the base in one of the corners denotes this as a re-used charger. If several number of "+" 's is present it denotes how many times these were re-used

PK ... It is believed that these were made in Poland by Painstowa Karabinewka Fabrika but at this time we are still researching this to confirm this. All of these that have been observed were coated with gray zinc (zingué gris)

Santa Fe/Japan ... These were reproductions that were made in Japan for Golden State Arms located in Pasadena, CA through thier Santa Fe Arms Division. These are marked on the base "Santa Fe" and "Japan". They made both the 3 round 2nd Type and 5 round 1st and 2nd Type chargers

FRANCE ... These are usually marked in white paint with the letters "FRANCE" on the base of the charger and were applied in the USA by various importers denoting that they came from France.
