as for the 25-06 you can use it for all those things I have a friend who deer hunts with his and then he shoots coyotes with it also he handloads and uses different bullit weights it is a very good all around rifle if you google the 25-06 it will proble give you a lot of info for all those uses the quarter bores are very good for a lot of things.

my vote was for the 22-250 as my favorite varment caliber. I reload for yotes and crows. my next choice is the 223 because ammo is very cheap and available everywhere. its a great choice for 300 yd shots at coyotes and fox and is perfect for deer if loaded with hollow points and used from a treestand within 100 yds. headshots dump em like a ton of bricks. I also like the triple duece and the hornet as well.

for long long long shooting I prefer the 264 win mag over any caliber. it is the best "bean field" deer rifle going...

Dante,you can indeed buy so called "white box" Winchester .223 ammunition at Wal-Mart.
