Veterans Day means more than WWI in the US

I'd imagine its like that elsewhere as well. Plenty of thanks to veterans comments at all sorts of messageboards.

Although I wasn't infantry. but one thing and the other of a forward observer team in Vietnam, I got an email this morning from a guy I knew who was a soldier in the infantry company I was attached to back then. He had sent his message to a half dozen of us who were both privates and NCO's during his time in country. He just said, "I just want to thank you guys for watching my back and keeping me alive."

I returned the thought because nobody is more grateful to veterans than veterans themselves to the guys they served with.
