Mosu, after following your link to the Central Finland Air Museum i was inspired to find out more about the Finnish Air Force, in doing so i came across the this excellent resource site by Pentti Perttula ....

The Birth of the Finnish Air Force 6 March - 16 April, 1918

In the War of Independence from 27 January to 5 May, 1918 only the Soviet Red Army had any significant aircraft type. They had 4 operative flying detachments in Helsinki, Tampere, Kouvola and Viipuri. The detachments were totally independent. The first mission was flown on 1st March from Tampere with a Nieuport aircraft. 1st recorded bombing took place on 10 March in Vilppula.

Finnish Aviation Force or Air Corpse at the time was established under the Army Command and led by a Swedish officer. Finnish White Army had 2 Flying Detachments, one in Vilppula (Kolho) from 28 Feb and one in Antrea from 25 March. Aircraft had little effect in the War. From Kolho the Flying Detachment I was transferred to Orivesi on 21 March, to Vehmainen on 28 March and finally to Tampere on 10 Apr. The Aviation Detachment of the Karjala Corps was established on 16 Apr. The first operative recon mission at the Aviation Corpse was flown in the morning of 18 March with NAB typ 9 Albatros aircraft. Two more recon missions were flown already in the afternoon. On the 11th and 12th flight on 31 March 8 incendiary bombs were hand-dropped to Tampere and on 2 Apr 3 explosive bombs were dropped.

German naval expedition force flew recon missions to Ahvenanmaa staring on 2 March and to South-Finland starting on 3rd March. Three bombs were dropped to Kouvola Railway Station on 27 Apr. Germans established small air stations in Finland, 2 at Helsinki, 1 at Loviisa, Koivisto and Suursaari.
