Hi all
Im new to the forum. Looks like it is a great forum! I have noticed there is quite a few threads on War Office Pattern trainers, which brings me to my question. I have my eye on a WOP trainer that has had its rear sight base, sight and protector removed and a parker hale sight installed. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get the whole lot from? Cheers!

They are not a common item in Australia and I've not seen just the sights for sale, it's usually the whole rifle.
However there is a gunshop I deal with that has been useful in turning up parts for the .310 Cadet trainers so I will ask there but some of the UK members may be more helpful.

Hi Woftam
Im in Oz too. I was down your way in Sept last year. My much better half and I were on The Endeavour when it sailed into Port Macquarie. Its a beautiful town and we would've loved to stay a bit longer to check it out properly.
The rifle Im looking at looks to be in very good condition. It looks good in the photo anyway. I was thinking that I could mount a BSA Martini 4B rear sight assembly if I cant get my hands on an original sight. We will see what happens anyway. You just never know your luck. Mine is usually bad

Desky,
there is a bit of a length difference between the Cadet and the WOP trainer rear sights. However if you remove the rear sight protector ears of the WOP overall length looks very similar. There might be other issues as the rear sight protector ears are set in a recess on the WOP and integral on the BSA 4b sights.
Certainly sounds worth looking in to. For the BSA sight this bloke would be worth a try -

Where abouts in Oz are you ?
Port is a nice place to live. Mind you anywhere South of the floods and North of the fires looks good right now.
