The powers that be are trying to kill off firearms ownership in the UK. Having banned pistols as being too dangerous to be owned by the private citizen (so we are told), they do not want to allow competitions as that would give a message that pistols have a legitimate purpose to be owned. The Olympic Games shooting facilities for the 2012 games in London are to be built as a temporary facility and then immediately bulldosed at a cost of millions. They do not want to leave a legacy for something they are trying to ban. The shooting facilities are to be built at Woolwich which is totally unsuitable and not big enough. They will not allow Bisley to be used or another site nearer the Olympic village as that would leave new facilities to be used in the future and give a reason for continued firearms ownership. They are in breach of the Olympic Charter by not leaving a legacy for the sport after the games, but they don't give a damn as far as shooting is concerned. I expect shooting to be dropped from the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games in the not too distant future. I might sound a bit bitter and twisted over this, but that is because I am.

i sympathise , this PC BS has all gone a bit too far , its high time normal thinking folks begin to speak out and take back control , or soon the traditions of our society shall feel the shovel full of loose earth flung upon its face ,

i would also ask about that sharia law acting alongside commonwealth law thing you have going on over there but i fear it would further irritate an already festering wound .......
