CG 80 finally arrived

Post by Calfed » Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:09 pm

I haven't had a chance to get to the range with it, but it has arrived.

There is one thing on the barrel that I'm trying to figure out-there is a small embossed rectangle, on the top of the barrel over the chamber, straddled by two shallow tapped holes:

Anyone have any ideas about it?

Thanks, Steve

The original sights are receiver mounted, and looking at the CG80 pics in the Dana Jones book "Crown Jewels" the barrel is unmarked. Does the number shown correspond with the rifle serial number Calfed?

A nice piece of kit you have there,

Thanks, Josey.

The number is not the serial number. I was wondering if there was some kind of gunsmith id tag or some such held on by the screws
