Military Handkerchief

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

Military Handkerchief

Post by PeterN2 » Mon Jul 18, 2005 4:47 pm

This belongs to a friend who has had it for at least 40 years. It is a Fulton military handkerchief with the information all about the Martini rifle and military procedures. There are the flag signalling codes, the music for the bugle calls, instructions for making a shelter trench, a list of infantry kit and all round the edge, instructions on what the infantryman should do in various situations. It is a very interesting item. It should be printed up as a tea towel. I would buy one. A few not very good pics.

That's a facinating piece. Do you think they were made for the soldiers or for the family as keepsakes.
