New .303 Barrel Dimensions?

Post by ozzielee303 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:43 pm

Hi Fella's
I'm getting a M1917/P-14 re-barreled from 303/25 to .303Epps(Well only if the 303/25 don't shoot good)I have not picked the gun up yet, still waiting for the dealer to get back from holidays and then get my paperwork done.

I intend to get a local barrel maker to make the barrel or might even import a custom barrel(I know I will need an import permit ).

What is the preferred twist for .303 British,Epps 1-10 or 1.12

What bore dimensions .311 or .312
Would you go for a 24in or 26in barrel,or even a 25.2 like the original Lee Enfield barrel length

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated ;)
Cheers

The P14 had a 26 inch barrel so I would be inclined to go with that as you are going for extra velocity.

Hi Rowdy
I will probably go with the 26in barrel and get it made by TSE (Total Solution Engineering) formerly known as MAB Barrels, they do good work, well used to!
