Sorry, I wasn't particularly clear. It was actually an Enfield N0.4 trials rifle, and I suppose it's possible that it was trialling the different bolt head release

"holy crud - ive been looking for a mkVI for years [very few were made] and one washes up in katrina - who the heck said that was a bad thing ? shoot them ,

if you can find or even competently forge the furniture thats a holy grail item , yes its a trials rifle but i searched for years top find my mkV and id given up on one of these , most likely they only exist as parts of other mkI rifles , other than the few that have been found :SCO:
