Arizona at it again...............
"The Arizona House of Representatives has given preliminary approval to legislation that would make Arizona the third state in the nation to allow adults to carry concealed guns without permits.
The legislation would allow any U.S. citizen 21 or older to carry a concealed weapon in Arizona without the permit that now is required.
If the legislation is enacted, Arizona would join Alaska and Vermont in not requiring permits to carry concealed weapons.
Current law does not permit anyone younger than 21 to have a concealed weapon. This legislation would let someone younger than that have a hidden gun if he or she is in a home or business owned or leased by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian, or if any part of the holster or carrying case is wholly or partially visible."
We'll see what happens.
Vern.

How did Vermont get in there with the no license needed to carry concealed? I would have figured that state, by geographic location, to be less than gun friendly.
This brings up another question. In Arizona you can carry a gun on your hip now and potentially concealed with no license in the near future, so how long do you think it will be before you are allowed to ride your horse into the Walmart?

Actually, you can do that now, you just tell the people a Wal-mart that you are physically handicapped and it is a seeing-eye horse, but you must wear cowboy boots and hat or they won't believe you. Arizona is funny that way.
But the real problem is getting the horse to push the shopping cart, they don't have any hands.
OK, here is the REAL reason that won't happen.......................

Around here they'd bag it and sell it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vermont has long been famous for having virtually no gun laws and coincidentally a low crime rate whereas we all know the record of its near neighbour Washington DC.
Vermont for most crimes ranks around 48th whereas Washington DC is grand champion and usually ranks No 1.

Forgot to update.
Yes, the governor signed it last week and now a concealed weapon permit is not required to carry concealed weapons.
But that isn't the big news around here. The governor also signed a bill to allow cops to check for illegal aliens and use National Guard troops on the border to "assist" the border patrol.
The new law has all the liberals up in arms about "abusing" all the rights of the illegals.
Umm.. doesn't the word "illegal" kind of remove those rights to start with.
The "Guv" said that if the Feds would enforce the laws already in place, the states wouldn't have to do their job for them.
So the Democraps, and especially our worthless muslim prez 'Obama bin Liein', are pissed off at Arizona.
It's fun to live here.

Don't need to live in Arizona Vern.. to see how pissed off the Government can get at individuals trying to usurp the illegal rights of Illegal imigrants. All one has to do is give over a sob story to the UK Government, and one is set for life! In fact, you can even complain that you feel intimidated by having to travel on public transport, and they will hand over the cash for you to buy yourself a decent car. Don't worry about insurance though.. you'll not need it, as they don't want to make you feel degraded in being forced to comply with the county's rules!!!

What part of 'Kalifornia' do you live in, we lived in Raaaaancho Cu-ca-monga for 15 years, until we couldn't take it any more and moved to Arizona in 1994.

Vern,
A friend of mine, the late Linton McKenzie, lived in Tucson for many years and he was a gun engraver of note, in fact right up there at the top.
His rifles and shotguns were his best though.
