Check these links

It's in Dutch, but there are quite a few pictures to tell the story.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Seems a rather quaint fanciful idea of an effective combat unit. However....suppose the present day version of special forces, airborne ranger, green beret, Rambo type....instead of having to go through some physical endurance and combat skill tests got the bicycle commando test right off the bat to weed out the undeserving.

Requirement to pass:....ride a bicycle in platoon size formation, one hand for steering, drum players have to improvise, staying in formation, keeping interval through and making all turns, while playing a musical instrument, reading and keeping to the written music at the same time......and not get pants leg caught in the bicycle chain. I have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time.

I like the one with the guy with the medals and the rifle over his shoulder, keenly observing the surrounding territory.......and that little bell on his handle bars...just like when I was a kid. Ring...ring...get out of my way.
