Finally, a bit of range time.

Post by Brass Rat » Tue Nov 02, 2010 3:24 pm

Sarah, her friend Joe, Bob, his girlfriend Tiffany, and I made it to RBGC 2 Sundays ago. I like to hit the range about 0900 on Sunday because we normally have the place nearly to ourselves for 3-4 hours.

Prior to the trip I loaded 150 rounds of .30 Carbine plus we had the last 150 rounds of LC on strippers, 192 rounds of Greek M2 on clips, DAG and SA R1M1 for the FAL, 400+ rounds of RG 5.56x45 and 40 rounds of .243.

I even managed a few rounds downrange with my #5 BSA which is about the only boltgun I actually shoot anymore.

Too bad the Army doesn"t still use M1 Carbines, Miss ROTC here would have it made.
Here is a vid of the first round she put down range with the carbine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Kh4ajWT0IY

I'm not sure how many rounds Sarah put through this target but she did a job on it. It didn't take her long to get the hang of it.

Trying something a bit more modern. We ran short of earmuffs so I was just using my earplugs which work fine when your behind the rifle but standing off to the side taking pics they were ringing my ears so there are not as many pics as I would have liked.

The peanut gallery. Bob and Tif doing what they seem to spend most of there time together doing, goofing off.

I need to get out to the range...my problem this time of year isn't the weather but the many once a year hunters out seeing if they can hit a target at 100 yards creating a nightmare in space available for shooting and the general safety of those gathered.
