Project: Wood grips for Enfield revolver

Post by thundermug » Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:14 pm

I made wood grips for my Enfield No2 Mk1. Completely hand carved from a plank of mystery hardwood. Next time I'll use walnut. I was just messing about, but I'm quite happy with the results. I had no model to work from, just pictures posted on the web. Email me if you're interested in a set: isaiah2222@gmail.com

Here are pictures documenting the process:

I rubbed off some of the finish to make it look worn. Thanks for checking it out. Pass the word along if you know someone who is looking for Enfield grips.

Great job! The wood looks like poplar to me it sometimes is that light.

Thanks. The checkering tools are on the way. Soon I'll be making grips from walnut or oak that look closer to the original. Maybe I'll throw a few sets on ebay and gunbroker. Start to pay off the student loans.
