Don't know, just found the photo online somewhere, and liked it.
But I'm sure you're right about it being an airshow, somewhere.

Remember these flying objects, Vern? They sometimes made our butts pucker up going into hot LZ's back in the day.
These are some real birds of war. Too bad they are out of date now.

Oh yes, I spent many a flight sitting on my flack vest, sphincter muscle firmly clamped,
wondering what the Hell Mrs. Weed's little boy is doing in a place like this.

Re: Planes......
In that photo you can't really see it but there is a little black dot under the cloud behind the highest visible Huey. That was the battalion commander in the C&C. The particular Lt. Col. in that flying black dot we used to call "The great white father" for some sarcastic reasons not worth mentioning.
I had a recent short exchange of emails with the Delta Company CO shown in a 9th Division newspaper photo story about an Eagle Flight from 40 years ago that a guy sent and I had posted. That particular captain retired a couple years ago as a full bird and is the most visible mover and shaker in the present day regiment association. It wasn't normal at all for a company commander to be flying with the battalion commander, by the way. Usually company CO's would be with one of their platoons being inserted.
The newspaper account is posted here if anybody is curious.
