I HAVE ALSO MISPLACED THE TRIGGER SEAR SPRING ANYBODY KNOW WERE I CAN GET ONE.

THE BOLT DOSNT COCK IT JUST SLIDES OVER THE SEAR.

I THINK THERE WERE SOME PICS OF THIS ON THE OLD SITE MIGHT OF BEEN JOES NEW STOCK.

AS YOU CAN SEE THE STOCK ALSO HAS A PIECE MISSING FROM THE REAR.

dhtaxi, Man! This is one of those times one wishes they could hold this in their hands. :?

"AS YOU CAN SEE THE STOCK ALSO HAS A PIECE MISSING FROM THE REAR." -dhtaxi

I've seen picks of the damage before...no cheek pins.

Maybe just a shadow I can't clean up, but it looks as if the left recoil block is missing.(?)

Sorry, not much/any help, Brad

Dave, if you are going to Alma Saturday take the stock down and I'll have a look at it, it doesn't look ower clever from here, too many bits to be healthy, the pics are a bit dark and as Brad says I can't get much out of them either in Irfan view

smle stock update

Post by dhtaxi » Sat Aug 06, 2005 12:46 pm

Took the stock to Alma as Adam suggested.

Adam and Stewart both examined the stock and explained how it fitted and what the consequences of wrong fitment.

The bottom line is the stock will be OK and if I fit it as directed Im confident the gun will be as good as ever.

Stewart is one of the partners known as the gun runners both very knowlegible and good people to do buisness with.

dhtaxi, Good to hear that it can be salvaged! :D

Was the recoil block missing? Where did the small piece come from?

Take Care, Brad
