Its about trying to draw a line between what is mature and somewhat vulgar and sometimes funny and what is immature and nasty and more obviously offensive than funny. It isn't always easy to figure out where the line should be, although sometimes I get opinions by email to direct my attention. However, I've figured it out for myself pretty quickly most of the time on the occaisons I have acted. I'm sure I've let some remain that should have been removed on general principle though. It's not like I don't have better things to do than to weight the pros and cons of every joke that is posted here.

Over the years I've deleted a few posts....and only a few. Sad thing is that most of the time one of the moderators was the one making the post.

There was one by a former moderator that showed a video clip of a guy setting fire to his crotch hair. Still have no idea why he thought that was funny.

There was one by another former moderator showing an image of a young man who was obviously passed out having all sorts of vulgar things done to him.

There was another by someone showing a small child with all sorts of stuff done to him that was supposed to be stuff he had done to himself. Another former moderator.

There was a post recently with a lot of really vulgar references to women.

And there is this last with cartoons showing genitalia, was only modified and not deleted.

Now...other sites....the most of them in fact, have not only strong objection to any kind of "dirty" joke but also have word blocks in place as well. And several others have no joke forum at all as they presume to be a "family" oriented forum and don't want to allow anybody the chance to get out of line I'd imagine.

This site is for adults and of a public nature....but that doesn't mean that some things should not be allowed and when I sense they are over the line, or get come complaints that I find resonable, they will go.

I agree with most of your points but if I thought that what I posted was going to be a problem then I wouldn't have uploaded them.

I am not going to fall out over it but if anyone wants to see the deleted ones - NOT TO BEAT EITHER OF US WITH - then contact me by pm and I will send them.

There is a different perception of a joke on each side of the pond as I know from experience...............
