B-17 crashed and burned this morning in Aurora, Illinois while performing at an air show. It crashed in a farm field. Crew all got out OK. Total loss. CNN has a short video.

The plane actually didn't crash, it made an emergency landing, wheels down, and then burned.
It wasn't an airshow, this B-17 and a P-40 travel around and sell rides, like the Collins Foundation planes do.
Luckily, it looks like the engines weren't damaged, they can be used again because they are hard to come by.
It is sponsored by the Liberty Foundation, but not sure who actually owns the aircraft.
How sad, there are less than 20 of these planes still flying, and I think they quit making them a while back.
