Dunno, it's all greek to me Duncan.
Pitcher - isn't that what beer comes in ? Do they play better drunk ?
On the road - Do they play on the Freeway ?
Insured a return game - Where do you get a policy for that ? What does it cost ?
Orioles - aren't they a biscuit ? Or is that Oreos ?
I guess this string is really about Rugby?
That's certainly where it started, but I'm not sure where its going
Anyway tomorrow Australia will beat NZ in the League test, then Australia will beat NZ in the rugby and all will be right in the universe.

Is it any wonder why our forefathers left there and came here?

I like the left and right helmets, wonder if the players ever grab a wrong one?

Eoin, that's true enough.....unless they are on the payroll of the Baltimore Orioles.

Batting helmets are a relatively new invention and not mandatory in pro ball until 1971. But...it keeps batters from being seriously injured or killed by a wild 95 mph pitch. One of these days the pitcher will have some kind of head protection too I'd imagine. I saw one beaned by a line drive that sent him to the hospital a couple of years ago.

The US professional big league teams are:

Anaheim Angels
Arizona (Phoenix) Diamondbacks
Atlanta Braves
Baltimore Orioles
Boston Red Sox
Chicago Cubs
Chicago White Sox
Cincinnati Reds
Cleveland Indians
Colorado (Denver) Rockies
Detroit Tigers
Florida (Miami) Marlins
Houston Astros
Kansas City Royals
Los Angeles Dodgers
Milwaukee Brewers
Minnesota (Minneapolis) Twins
Montreal Expos
New York Mets
New York Yankees
Oakland Athletics
Philadelphia Phillies
Pittsburgh Pirates
San Diego Padres
San Francisco Giants
Seattle Mariners
St. Louis Cardinals
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Texas (Arlington) Rangers
Toronto Blue Jays
