#4 sight

Post by Brass Rat » Wed Jan 18, 2012 4:23 pm

Does anyone know of a globe type sight that will take the place of a #4 fore site without requiring a lot of fitting?

That's exactly what I am looking for. Now all I need to do is find one.

Looks like it just replaces the front sight blade.

Thanks Joe

I did some more research and it looks like I may be able to fit this to the #4 base.

That's the same basic dove tail sight base on it that is used on most black powder rifles also. You just file out the metal until it's a close fit, but still tight, and tap it in place. However, removing the issue sight protector ears on a number 4 to put it in place might be some trouble...or not. It is important to note what the height of the thing will be after it is in place as well I'd think.

Here is another source that I have bought things from now and again. They show two choices at a little lower price. There must be other choices around as well.
