No5 for target work??????

Post by awo425 » Sun May 29, 2005 1:10 pm

Or am I insane???????

Got this one yesterday(1945 BSA, perfect barrel), and as it is missing the bayo lug(removes in th 70ies, when it was required by the law) I put on a No4 rearsight with a AJP 8.53.

The US M1907 sling was also a spare.

Am I Bubba now?????

Chris, I used my #5 BSA and a 1907 sling to win class 2a at the MSA shoot in January.

As of right now I am planning to shoot it in the vintage bolt gun match at Camp Perry this year.

I will try it out on next sunday, have loades two reduced loads and have S&B factory ammo.

Tha unusual thing is the welding marks on the chagerbidge.

Never seen this on a No4, but on some No5s!!!

It also looks factory done, the blueing is uniform, no reblue there.

Congratulations Chris a nice rifle, she should shoot good for you.

Did you see the pictures in my Phoenix post of the guy shooting the offhand precision with a No 5 fitted with the AJParker windage peep sight.

Great minds think alike. :D;

Hm, that "No5" looks strange, No4 style front sight ears, and I can spot a brass butt plate.

Shortened No4??????

Best regards

Chris
