Ammunition belt

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

Ammunition belt

Post by joseyclosey » Tue Aug 23, 2005 2:43 pm

This is the ammo belt for the 6.5 Swedish round. It is a very good quality belt in tanned russet leather, consisting of five expanding pockets which each hold five, five round chargers giving a total of 125 rounds. A soldier would definitely know he was carrying this belt!!

The belt was designed to be worn around the waist with the pockets to the front but could also be carried across the shoulder.

Joe,

I've seen photographs of something almost identical being worn by Belgian cyclist troops in 1914 - always seemed a little uncomforable to me.
