Had a brief but brilliant weekend back home.

No venison they are still in velvet and going into the rut, however the salmon were running

Did a bit of shopping whilst I was there and stocked up on some .22 Martinis for the coming winter leagues, bought a BSA 12/15, a BSA Mk2 International left hander, a BSA MK3 International right hander (probably sell that), a BSA MK5 international left hander, a Fultons regulated BSA No1 MK111 (*) and the BSA 1915 MK111*.

Will do more detailed posts in due course as I couldn't take all the rifles away with me.

The early BSA No1 Mk111* seems genuine, all original marks with the receiver being in Mk111* guise, forend woodwork is shot though but I did find an original Mk111* forened in the white never fitted.

Now to me thats a find in itself.

Also had a serious look at a Pape double barrel 17gauge (probably 16 gauge chamber) double rifle, serious money and the guy was dithering about selling it but I'm sorely tempted, lets face it I have absolutely no will power, shame on me

Adam, Is this '15 BSA Mk.III* the same as the one from the 'bought sight unseen' you posted earlier?

Not being left-handed, I do have to ask a trivial question, because of an experiance I had recently.

Do you ever lose track of what side the bolt handle is on? (After driving my never to be compleated project car (5-speed) for a couple of days straight to iron out some bugs, I hopped into my truck (automatic) and after backing out of the drive, my left foot stomps the floorboard for a non existant clutch pedal and my right hand is waving in the air for an equally non existant shifter.)

Hi Brad,

yes its the same BSA 1915 Mk111* as I bought sight unseen. When we took the woodwork off the foreend was split along its length but that being replaced with the new piece, getting a good colour match will be the trick.

Shooting a left hander is different and takes a little patience to adjust to, even with a Martini, but I soon get the hang of it.

I know what you mean about driving, when I hire a car on the continent and the all kit is the wrong way round you need to take care. Go to change gear and you open the door.

The really embarrassing bit is where you get into the 'driving seat' of the car/van and then realise the steering wheel is on the other side - and everyone else in your party has watched you do it.
