M44 in an odd stock

Post by Miller Tyme » Wed Apr 02, 2014 5:52 pm

Some people look long and hard to find an M38 in an M38 stock, but how many look for an M44 in an M38 stock?

This one comes by way of a fellow Mosin Collector who offered it to me since he knew I collected different and odd 1944 Mosin Nagants. It’s a Refurbed 1944 Izhevsk M44 that was put into can only be described as a modified M38 stock. The barrel shank has been scrubbed somewhat and the “44” in the date restamped, but it is in a 44 reciever. The rifle is all Izhevsk parts except for the butt plate ( which is unmarked) and has a beautiful bore.
