The N0 4 was never made in Australia or India and as England has always considered herself as an island that only leaves two continents, North America and the Sub-Continent.

Po6man, I don't know if that's good or not anymore. You don't see any from the usual C&R companies that I used to buy from for $100 or so. It's all a matter of supply and demand. It could well be worth the price now days. I think ...if I were you...I'd do this. Take a roll of tens into the place. Put a rubber band around the roll. Pull out the roll. Ask the guy what he will take for it cash. He'll say $250. Unroll the rubber band and look up at the ceiling for a minute lost in thought. Then roll the rubber band back and stick it in your pocket and turn to walk out. If the guy has a lower price he will start talking. Then offer something less, suggesting...to him... that's as large as the roll is.

The No:4 rifle was made in;

It covered the following models, not all being made in all locations.
Rifle No:4 MkI Trials - Mk I - Mk I* - Mk 2 - Mks 1/2 & 1/3.

The advantage it had over semi auto rifles was that each shot needed to be aimed AND thus less ammunition needed to be carried.

The total number of Lee Enfield rifles manufactured is in excess 17 million, the No:4 total being in the region of 4.4 million.

UK Prices are about $500-$600 in France you would pay about $800! I would but it at $240 but try and pay less like Robert says.
By the way, for an Enfield T sniper rifle with box you could expect to shell out over $5000

well hey thanks guys for all the coments you know what i went ahead and bought it very nice clean and shoots well im surprised i have added it to my wwll colection i do like it its not a good looking rifle like the other rifles but it looks like it is well made thanks kurt

Looks as though your front hand guard has been to India as it is common practice there to cut the rere extensions off; they break easily and really don't do anything much; ditto the front extensions on the rere guard.
