WORKSHOP REFIT...............

A couple of weeks ago I started on a workshop refit because I was fed up of tripping over things or knowing what I was looking for was in there - SOMEWHERE
My intention is to fit a 5mtr long workbench down the brick wall and then rationalize the rest of the shelving etc.,

Work in progress.........

That reminds me of a mess I have in my "workshop" and garbage collector.

I am envious of those that have a large workshop like that, since mine is just a 11' x 11' room at the
end of my carport. And I had to stuff everything out of a 2-car garage in there..........

It is definitely a one man shop......

Progress today. I picked up the timber to make the bench frame and spent the afternoon creating the frame for the bench top.
If all goes to plane I should have a 4.8 mtr long bench tomorrow!
Good job the weather is nice so I can work outside cutting the timber to length........

Big strides today,

The bench frame is complete and will get it's top tomorrow. The extractor fan to vent the lead melting area is also in place and I should be able to fit the ducting as well tomorrow.

Electrical sockets are ready to place along the benches length. After that it is time to return the various pieces of machinery to the bench.

Looks like you built it strong enough. That table should support weight heaver than you will ever put on it.

The frame is 63cm x 75cm and is held in place by M8 threaded rod that is fixed through the brick.
Legs are also bolted to the top frame with spacing supports screwed in place using 150mm angler brackets and M4 60mm screws.
The heaviest piece is going to be the pillar drill............

Almost finished!

The part that needs sorting next and the Garage which is in danger of becoming a cardboard box store!

My wood store in the barn which I built about four years ago from two greenhouse frames and some thin sheet plywood.

The rest of the barn which holds all manner of rubbish plus the winter wood supply
plus
Some free pallets I 'collected' today to cut down and use under the workbench to keep stuff off the ground
