Model 1863 bayo-back from the dead

I picked up a model 1863 "peabody" bayo recently, but as you'll see it was well past its glory days:

However, I let it soak in some CLP for a while, and then gave it a good old-fashioned scrubbing with some steel wool.

This turned out better than I expected, and the locking ring works perfectly. Now I just need one of those crazy falling block rifles to put it on!:loco:;

The pics were even pulled by the time I got home...let me guess, the broken sling loop was on the but end?
