Being a collector of anything it isn't often that you try to aquire the worst of what you are collecting, but this might be the exception to the rule.
about 2 years ago I had the opportunity to acquire what one firearms expert calls "The Worst Sniper Rifle ever made". Now being as I collect sniper rifles, and this is a legit military issued sniper rifle, and the fact that there are only 2 or 3 of these floating around the U.S. I decided I had to have it.
I am now the proud owner of said rifle (along with a nice pair of Spanish Army binoculars) and I must say it's crudeness is part of its charm.
I present the 2nd pattern Spanish M43 Sniper Rifle.
And some pics of it in Spanish use.
When the "Worst" is still collectable.

Reminds me of the M1916 Spanish Mauser that was rechambered from 7mm to 7.62 NATO. And.... the great Samco controversy of the small ring and the supposed danger to fire the rifle controversy. Then there was the Samco study that was bogus on the face of it while they still had a boat load of them to unload on the collector market....... and the subsequent equally bogus tragedy stores that nobody could ever legitimize as actually happening .
What you have is a horse of a different color for sure and not the same rifle as the old, now dead, topic of the Spanish revolutionary war makeovers in the later day NATO caliber preference. If you are going to collect sniper rifles I can see it as a no brainer addition to the battery. Congrats on still being in the game.
