No.I MkIII. Enfield 1911, all matching apart from the nosecap. Volley sights, piling swivel and mag cutoff still on there. Good rifling with a small amount of corrosion 1/3 of the way up the barrell, but still a very nice shooter. I have owned this one a good few years now and will not be parting with her.

Ash is just outside Bisley, part of the military complex there. Deepcut is part of it.

That was the most boring shoot I ever attended, the shooting courses of fire were good original pre WW1 period courses with original targets, landscapes, Wessex, Kneeling Hun, Lying Hun etc.

The whole comp must have been less tha 50 rounds and it took all day queing at the firing points to get your shoots in.

We had a great weekend Joe and I but it wasn't worth the petrol for 50 rounds.

We practiced at Battle Hill, the proper targets are there. We should hold the comp ourselves, been talking about it for a while but haven't got our acts together yet.

Nice looking set of prints Joe, the range is Stoney Castle (although I am not aware of a castle within miles!)

The meeting was an Army Target Shooting Club event which did not take place this year because of Landmark not letting us use the range because the cadets had booked it supposedly, but in the event the secretary of LERA went to check on the day and found the range closed!

A group of us did exactly what you are thinking of doing Adam and that is hold the event on your own turf, we hired a lane on Short Siberia at Bisley and used did the same course of fire at 100 yards on home made targets.

It was a lot of fun..............................and very little queuing!!

1903-A3. With the hat... correction... bonnet...that Adam sent me. I've since worn the "bonnet" to work and other times and have gotten a lot of comments. The main ones suggested that I fit the hat without looking out of place. Wonder why that is? IN any case I like my "bonnet" almost as well as my old jungle hat or my favorite fishing hat.

On another note, I had my old Army ear plugs from basic as I lent my real hearing protection to my brother who was with me at the time of the photo.

Just an aside. I never used hearing protection in combat. That's why my hearing is gone to hell today.
