That is one bodacious beauty, Phil. My envy level just went off the scale. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START 0] --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/alien.gif ALT="0]">; I suppose that it is 7.5 Swiss.





I am curious about the rear sights. The settings look like 500 and 1000 meters. Those are might long distance shots for a carbine. I will be interested to hear how it shoots compared to the Schmidt-Rubins.

AJ: Yes, the rifle is in 7.5 (GP1890) as in the 1889. And for the sights....I'm glad you asked, because I missed the coolest part<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">;








The rear sight has 2 modes....

The rear sight moves in a conventional fashion, allowing for ranges from 400m to 1200m. There is simply no room for the 400 at the bottom.

I bet you wouldn't have "missed the coolest part" if you had actually gone out and fired the thing! (You don't really know all those wallhangers until you put them to use.) Just like wives, but then you wouldn't know about that either... yet...
