Look what I got!

Post by Brian the Brit » Tue Mar 07, 2006 10:45 am

To keep Adam sweet with this seriously OT post I've added a picture of my No 1 .22 trainer to give an idea of scale against my new Sharps which I collected today.

So far as I'm aware it is an Armi Sport action and stock fitted with a 35 13/16" long, tapered, round, Henry-rifled barrel chambered for 45-90 and marked "Sharps Absolute". The telescope is 38 7/8" long and appears to be about 4X. The front of the tube is 3/4" dia and the eyepiece 1" dia.

It should be a good companion for the Martini-Henry. Can anyone tell me anything about the "Sharps Absolute" barrel?
