The prices are going up....big time.

M95 Carbines used to be cheap. I got one in October of 1999 for $49.87 from Century and they paid the freight! Now SOG has them for $129.95 plus freight, plus credit card charge. Amaziing how things change.

It is still cheap

$130 is about £75. I paid £100 (about $175US) for my M95 long rifle about 14 years ago and didn't think it was a bad price then. There are not many guns that retail under £100 in the UK these days.

Regards

Peter.

I Guess it is all relative Peter. And by the way, I think I paid about $75 for my long M95 at a gun show about ten years ago. There are no import marks on it either. The down side is that some previous owner carved his name and address into the stock.

We're talking about rifles that have been out of production since 1918.

Barring the finding of some treasure trove somewhere (highly unlikely I

think) there is a fixed number of items and a steadily rising demand, hence prices will go up.

There seems to be a larger supply of ammo around right now. SOG has both Nazi marked and unmarked in 250 round case lots. The unmarked will set you back about 19 cents a round plus the shipping costs. The Nazi marked stuff will set you back an extra 4 cents a round. This might have something to do with the rise in rifle prices. People in general tend to buy what they can expect to shoot and accordingly pay more for the weapons.

I just bought another 150 rounds

Post by PeterN2 » Tue Apr 18, 2006 5:08 am

I bought 150 rounds of 8x6R on saturday. It was packed loose in a cardboard box. About 2/3rds was 1938 dated Nazi stamped and the rest

non Nazi stuff dated 1938. There were about a dozen rounds of misc dated and manufacturers. That brings me up to about 900 rounds in stock. I have a set of NDFS dies and 20 Bertram cases but while the ammo is available at £25 per hundred, I will use the surplus military stuff.

Regards

Peter.

Great pics! Do the Roman numerals designate where the ammo was made?
