Finnish Civil Guard .22 rifle

Post by RGRWJB » Sun May 28, 2006 11:25 pm

The Finnish Civil Guard used several types of guns for practice in the 1920/30s instead of their Mosin Nagants. The .22 was often used to hone their marksmanship skills. This one has the older Civil Guard mark on it. You will find this same mark on the m/91-24 Lotta rifle. This is a rare rifle in a private collection in Finland.

Very nice. Have seen the Army versions but only heard of the CG ones. Looks to be in great shape as well.

What does the S stand for? I would guess something like "Scharfschütze" which is like a sharpshooter? The shield looks like a coat of arms.
